Serbian seminary has unique influence in the Balkans

Novi Sad Theological Seminary (NSTS) in Serbia was founded in 2000 after a closing Bible school left the area without a theological institution. Since then, the interdenominational school of 102 graduates has had continued growth and enrollment and serves all evangelical denominations in Serbia.

With a unique ministry position and strategic influence toward strengthening the Body of Christ in the Balkans, NSTS actively focuses on social ministries and encourages students/graduates to develop these ministries. Peacemaking ministries are crucial, such as the establishment of an institute for dialogue addressing ethnic and religious tensions in the Balkan context of sharp opposition.

NSTS is working through their graduates to educate Serbians and those from surrounding countries who will stay and minister to the country’s people, despite the poor economy and recent civil war. Thirteen graduates serve as full-time faculty and staff, providing the individualized and contextualized education by nationals in which NSTS so strongly believes.

Graduate Djordjevicspeaks on faith and religion for the Serbian evangelical community in roundtable discussions, conferences and interviews. He is the senior pastor of a Baptist church and helped begin a kindergarten project that has evolved into a long-term community outreach facility. He has also written many Christian songs and is the editor of a hymnal used in Serbian churches.
