Kenyan graduate directs Bible school and ministry for widows
Neddy Mundia Nanjowe graduated with her Master of Divinity degree in Christian Education from the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST), Kenya, in 2008. As a student, she taught classes for children nearly every Sunday and also served in youth ministry for her local church in Karen, a suburb of Nairobi. During holidays, she would serve at the Kenya Free Methodist Modular Bible School, and after graduation, she continued to serve these ministries. With time, she says God led her to start a widows ministry.
“My training at NEGST taught me to work toward excellence – work toward perfection, become a good planner and a responsible team worker,” she says. Today, she serves as the Director of the Modular Bible School, as well as the widows ministry she started at the Free Methodist Church of Kenya.
As a wife, mother and student, Neddy says it was challenging, but “NEGST taught me a sense of responsibility, [and] I learned how to balance my studies and family life.” All in all, Neddy says NEGST is “a good place, a place of wholesome growth, a place to be molded and a place to form character.” She always says she learned independence through interdependence. “We are all important, and we need each other. So in this regard, we must be willing to learn from one another.”
