Earthquake devastates Haiti – Please join Overseas Council in prayer and support
We want to bring an urgent situation to your attention. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti Tuesday caused tremendous damage and an unknown death toll at this time.
Above all else, OC asks that you pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti and their fellow citizens during this difficult time.
OC will also provide financial assistance to our partner institution (pictured right), the Evangelical Theological Seminary of Port-au-Prince (STEP), as they have sustained major damage to their campus; at least one building is likely a total loss. STEP President Jean Dorlus and all faculty and staff have been accounted for; however, most have likely suffered partial or total loss of their homes and possessions. In addition, two students are believed to be trapped in a collapsed STEP building, but reports could not be confirmed at this time.
There will be many financial needs for our partner seminary, so if you feel led to contribute to STEP’s relief fund, please click here. Please note: The “STEP - Haiti Earthquake Relief” option will already be selected for you on the donation page.
As we learn more on this developing story, updates will also be posted on www.overseas.org.
Thank you for your partnership and prayers!
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:12-13
